happy new years eve!

i made pancakes for breakfast and cleaned a lot and then Catie and I made ART.

so pretty much with Kelly in Scotland, Katherine in Tennessee, Emily and Amy in Maryland, and Bernadette in VA Beach, it's just been Hillary, Catie and me doing a whole lot of nothing.

Heavy Rebel was a blast and i'll post a lot about that sometime soon.

my dad sent some kale from his garden. tomorrow i want to cook the beets, but i can't promise anything because tuesday=farmers market. i bought some really delicious onions last week and i need more. also, lots of fresh flowers for super cheap. we've been keeping flowers all over the house.
we did something awesome with a sofa that hillary's dad gave us...it's almost finished. more rearranging and planning and everything that we can until i start my job.

for lunch I had fresh pepper on caramelized onions on avocado on a veggie burger on monterey jack on lettuce.


i watched some fireworks tonight from my front porch.

this was after he brought it inside the first time to play in the living room; this is when he brought it back and let it wiggle around dying in my house. i'm so proud.

i eat.

i'd be really really happy to spend all of my time making salad dressings.

almond vinaigrette- olive oil, hazelnut oil, white balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, minced almonds, fresh ground pepper.
salad- spring mix, sauteed halloumi cheese, cucumber, green apple.

ninety-nine degrees every day.

june is for bailing friends out of jail. june is for dancing in the kitchen without pants on, listening to zz top and nothing else for days.

potato salad secret recipes! well, it's a different recipe every time i make it, but...whatever. close enough. and grilled halloumi on a sandwich with sprouts and avocado...







and that...is the most awesome "cordless sweeper you'll ever see.

i spoil myself.

sleep in. apple sauce. honey ginger lemonade (this one isn't as good as how i used to make it but the ginger tingles the back of my throat long after the other flavors are gone) and local sun dried tomato goat cheese on toast.


we have new dishes. we have a dining room table and chairs. we've been grilling every week, going to the river, cleaning, and sitting in the pool.

in case anyone is looking for a reason to be my friend, sometimes i bake banana bread at midnight and cover it with cream cheese and a bitter chocolate sauce. certain people deserve delicious things and by all means, i accommodate.

my thyme has sprouted and i am anxiously awaiting this camera.
there's more water in the basement. unacceptable.

i came home hours later to find that
my flowers are sprouting!

these things have already put roots out through the bottoms of their peat pots and will be transplanted tomorrow in their tiny, fragile state. wish me luck!

secrets

i started some laundry and i started some dishes and the rest of my day was lazy. drunk morning bath (i pretend i'm a whale) and a small thunderstorm and my cat. mimosas on the deck with hillary and holly,

then

i cooked some tofu with sauteed onions/white wine/lemon juice/carrots; i put yogurt in my tomato soup

followed by

it was a delicious night of catching up with my best friend and a bottle of reisling.

i've just been so angry lately.
